It is a really a tricky thing to decide sometimes which one
is better, online bookstore or our tradition next door bookstores.
For some, including me, smell of a book gives the best high which
is not available when we go and buy books online.
Yes, it really means a lot, reading a book is not just an
entertainment but its like relaxation of mind, its like letting ourselves get
lost in some another world created by the author and for some experience like
this, touching a book, being surrounded by books, and getting its fragrance,
means a lot and this is available only at the bookstores and not while buying
books online.
But online bookstores are relevant not just because they
make availability of books much easier and we can buy books online by a little
click of our mouse but, it’s important for the sake of our love for books, it
relevant because we love books and online bookstores have leased a new life to
our old love—Books.
Yes, it’s true, in this life where we don’t have time sip our
coffee peacefully at home, it’s like fighting a world war when it comes to
selecting our favorite books at the offline bookstores, but why?”
Firstly, you need time and that too at official working
hours (as most of the bookstores are open during that time). The hours when we
literally don’t have time. Then, due to the physical presence of books and
space constraints, its not possible for offline bookstores to store as many
titles as it can be on an online bookstore. More than buying books, it is tough
to browse, select books in offline bookstores whereas at online bookstores, you
can not only buy books online but can also browse through thousands of titles
in a much systematic and time saving way and then can easily buy books online
by zeroing in at your favorite book.
But whatever be there, whether offline or online bookstore, whether
you have to buy books online or offline, as rightly said by Gabriel Garcia
Marquez, “But when a woman decides to sleep with a man, there
is no wall she will not scale”—we book lovers will
cross every hurdle for our love—The Books—wont we??
Happy Reading!
