Almost 90% of the stories are either love stories or have love as a most important element. You browse any online bookstore read their collections of books online, it is clearly evident that majority of the books deal with one emotion called –Love.
Sometimes it comes as a surprise, why Love is only dealt in majority of the books and why these books are on the bestsellers list on online bookstores as well as the offline ones.
Personally I feel it’s mainly because love is the basis of all our relations. In fact, love gives birth to most of our other secondary emotions too, it is for this reason that it catches the minds of our authors and readers also relate to it.
By simple mathematical point of view, if our parents didn’t love each other, we would not have been, if we don’t love someone, there will no one after us.
However, besides mathematics there are several other reasons related to ourselves being human. Like Irwing Stone wrote in Lust For Life, “It's so easy to love. The only hard thing is to be loved" here she talked about what we feel we are not loved. Gabriel Garcia Marquez said, “You may only be a person in this world, but for someone you're the world” this tells us what we become if we are being loved.
Rainer Maria Rilke said, “Love consists of this: two solitudes that meet, protect and greet each other,” clearly telling us why we need love.
Personally whenever I go ahead to buy books online and start browsing online bookstores with a determination that I will not buy any book on love and I buy for say five books at least two are on love!!! LOL!
